Nancy, current owner of Birds of Paradise, has worked with birds exclusively for the last 10 years. Long before "getting into the birds" she had told friends she would NEVER have a bird in her house. In a manner of speaking, that is now true; she lives in the BIRDS' house!

Birds of Paradise strives to create an environment where customers feel at ease to interact with the birds in open play areas and talk with our staff about their bird's needs. The staff is knowledgeable on bird care, behavior and handling.

Current bird owners or those desiring a companion parrot can get help with avian behavior problems, information on proper nutrition and first aid. We have informational handouts on plant and food safety, and we offer free sample kits of many of our commodities.

We carry an extensive line of wonderful food products, safe toys and non-toxic cleaners for your feathered friends. Because we are a fairly small store, the sales staff must also be involved in all aspects of bird care from cage cleaners to diet to the favorite toy. We can offer suggestions based on our hands-on experience.

Birds of Paradise does wing feather clipping, toenail blunting and shaping of the beak on all sizes of birds.
